The season finale of the 2017-18 Fremont-Midland Entertainment Series will have the Fremont High School’s Nell McPherson Theatre rocking.

That’s when Billy McGuigan will be bringing Rave On! The Buddy Holly Experience to Fremont. The concert is set for 7 p.m. May 25.

Single tickets for non-Fremont-Midland Entertainment Series members are $20 for adults and $10 for students. Children age 10 and under will be admitted free.

Tickets may be purchased online at www.fmesconcerts.org or at the door the night of the show.

“Rave On re-invents the ordinary tribute show with an electrifying, high-energy, rock and roll extravaganza featuring America’s premiere Buddy Holly interpreter, Billy McGuigan,” promotional material states. “He captures the essence of Buddy Holly presenting Buddy’s music in a way you’ve never heard it before.

“Backed by the rockin’ Rave On Band, their incredible musicianship helps ignite the stage and breathe new life into the music of Buddy Holly.”

McGuigan has emulated Buddy Holly more than 2,000 times in his stage show paying homage to the late Buddy Holly in Rave On! The Buddy Holly Experience. That’s in addition to over 450 performances in Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story across the country.

McGuigan has received a great deal of national attention and critical acclaim for his portrayals of the legendary Buddy Holly.

The show has been endorsed by Tommy Allsup, who was Buddy Holly’s original guitar player on their final tour in Clearlake, Iowa.

Allsup is quoted saying that “Rave On is the best Buddy Holly show out there.”

McGuigan grew up as an Air Force brat, living in base housing as his family moved around. When his father, a tech sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, was home from duty, he entertained Billy and his brothers with his guitar and shared his love for the Beatles.

That helped instill a love of music for McGuigan and led him to want to bring good times through music to others across the nation.

In addition to Rave On! The Buddy Holly Experience, McGuigan also has created and produces Yesterday and Today and Rock Twist.

When McGuigan is not on the road performing, his time is devoted to being the owner and creative director of Rave On Productions, acting in industrial films and commercials and doing voice-over work.
