Husker Tailgate, 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., First National Bank Fremont Park, Sixth and D streets, Fremont. The First National Bank Fremont management team will be on hand with its dunk tank and lunch will be served. Hot dogs, chips and drinks will be sold for $3 with all proceeds going toward school supplies for Washington Elementary School. Donations of school supplies also are welcome in lieu of the $3.

Septemberfest, 5 p.m. to midnight, CenturyLink Center Omaha Parking Lot D. The festival will continue through Monday. Admission is $4. Children under 5 will be admitted free.

“Reconfigure,” an interactive community art workshop, 6-8 p.m., LUX Center for the Arts, Lincoln. The workshop led by installation artist Casey Whittier is in conjunction with her exhibition, “The Need for Fertile Ground,” which opened Aug. 1. It is free and open to the public.

Free outdoor movie night, 8:10 p.m., Camp Fontanelle. The zip lines will be open for two hours prior to the start time of each movie. Minors must have a waiver filled out by an adult guardian. The cost is $10 per person for two 350-foot rides.

Labor Day Celebration, 8 a.m., Schuyler. Events will include alumni volleyball and basketball tournaments, school tours, children’s parade, games, beer garden, outdoor concert featuring Reggie Shaw Band and fireworks.

Labor Day weekend, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium. There will be wild entertainment, including bounce houses and face painting, and special animal presentations throughout the day for all ages. Event activities are free with regular paid zoo admission.
