A Fremont man was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the Fremont Police Department.

Officers arrived at a residence on north Bell Street to check the welfare of a child who had sustained an injury. While at the residence, George T. Plofkin, 38, was arrested at 2:15 p.m. after officers allegedly found a glass "bong" with a white residue that was consistent with methamphetamine inside the residence, police said.

The injury sustained by the child was deemed to not be caused by any abuse or neglect, police said.
