A Fremont man was arrested on Tuesday for driving under the influence with children in his car following a traffic accident, the Fremont Police Department said.

Joshua Black, 30, drove his car into a fire hydrant near sixth street and Marvin Court. Officers who responded to the scene noted that Black "showed signs of impairment consistent with being under the the influence of some type of intoxicant." 

Two minor children were in the car at the time of the accident, and Black was arrested and charged with driving with a revoked license, driving under the influence, refusal to submit to a chemical test and child abuse.
