A 33-year-old Fremont man was arrested on Wednesday after a traffic stop yielded methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a knife, according to the Fremont Police Department.

The man, Lee E. Altmanshofer, was arrested at around 11:45 p.m. on Wednesday, after a traffic stop on east Morningside Road. He was stopped due to an equipment defect, police said.

A police K-9 sniffed around Altmanshofer’s car and alerted officers to the presence of narcotics. A search of the vehicle then turned up less than an ounce of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a knife.

Altmanshofer was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana less than one ounce, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a deadly weapon.
