A 23-year-old male sustained minor injuries on Thursday after being struck by a vehicle at 2:45 p.m., according to the Fremont Police Department.
The collision occurred at the intersection of 16th and Bell Streets, when Matthew T. Sass, 36, of Fremont was driving his Ford F150 westbound on 16th street and had a green light to enter into the intersection of Bell Street.
The cyclist was riding his bicycle northbound on the sidewalk on Bell Street and rode into the intersection at around the same time, colliding with Sass’ vehicle.
Police say that witnesses corroborated that the bicyclist failed to yield to Sass. Sass was, however, cited on suspicion of driving without his driver’s license.
The cyclist sustained minor injuries. Damage to Sass’ vehicle is estimated at $500 and damage to the boy’s bicycle is estimated at $200.
