HOOPER -- Dale F. Pawling, age 87, of Hooper died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017, at Hooper Care Center.
Dale was born June 20, 1930, at home in Hooper to William and Esther (Steunkel) Pawling. He was raised in Hooper and graduated from Hooper High School in 1947. After high school he served in the Navy from 1950 to 1954. After returning from his military service he drove for his family trucking company, Pawling Transfer, then drove a bulk milk truck for Feller’s and Berkley Wolf. Dale married Marian Appel in 1957, with their family they began Prairie Angels Craft. The family made and sold their crafts at many fairs and even hosted special events at their house.
Dale was a member of VFW Post 10535 in Hooper and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fremont.
Survivors include: his wife, Marian of Hooper; children, Linda (Steve) Sorensen of Nickerson, Tom (Tammy) Pawling of Bellevue, Robert Pawling of Fremont and Mary (Dan) Molliconi of Aurora; grandchildren, Dustin (Kelli) Sorensen, Jesse (Tami) Sorensen and Jacob Molliconi; great-grandchildren, Lane, Eli, Jace, Jack, Avery, Alaina, Jack, Kaelyn; sister, LaRae (Duane) Moseman of Hooper; and sister-in-law, Millie Pawling of Hooper.
Dale was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy; brothers, Duane and Maynard; and sister, Arlene.
There will be a Celebration of Dale’s Life at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ludvigsen’s Hooper Funeral Chapel in Hooper.
