Douglas J. Maslonka, 69 years, of Fremont passed away Friday, March 1, 2019, at Dunklau Gardens of Fremont.
He was born July 20, 1949, in Oakland, Nebraska, to Charles and Myrna (Mitchell) Maslonka. He graduated from Lyons Public School in 1968. He attended vocational trade school in Kansas City. He was employed at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln for 30 years, retiring in 2011. He moved to Fremont in 2013.
Doug was a past member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Lincoln, a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus of Lincoln, and a member of Lincoln Catholic Club. He was a current member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church of Fremont.
Doug is survived by his brother, Vincent Maslonka of Sioux City, Iowa; sisters, Paula Maslonka of Columbus, Yvonne Carson of Fremont; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carla Maslonka; brother, Richard Maslonka; and brother-in-law, Larry Carson.
The Memorial Mass will be 10 a.m. Thursday, March 7, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont. The Rev. Nicholas Mishek will officiate. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Fremont.
