Fidelis A. Sedlacek, 92 years, of Prague, Nebraska, passed away Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019, at CHI Health St. Elizabeth in Lincoln surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 29, 1926, in Cedar Bluffs, Nebraska, to Nick and Sophia (Stuchlik) Ladenburger.
She was a lifetime resident of Prague, graduating from Prague High School at the age of 16. She married Ignac (Ig) Sedlacek on July 29, 1947, at Prague. They farmed until moving into town in 1994. Fidelis was known for her extraordinary baking talents, gardening skills, preparing for Christmas and any activities pertaining to her children and grandchildren. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Prague, the Rosary Society, and the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association. To her, family and faith were of utmost importance.
Fidelis is survived by sons, Donald (Marlene) Sedlacek of Overland Park, Kansas, Daniel Sedlacek and Dwayne (Kim) Sedlacek, all of Prague; daughter, Dianne (Ken) Kielniarz of Omaha; daughter-in-law, Katherine Sedlacek of Lincoln; grandchildren, Kim Marsh, Stacey Kopf, Amy Kalcic, Patrick, Samuel, Anna, Nicholas, Jessica Sedlacek; stepgranddaughter, Megan Hamilton; and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, David Sedlacek; brother, Ray Ladenburger; and sister, Rita Petrzelka.
The funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Prague. Visitation on Wednesday, 4-7 p.m., with a rosary beginning at 7 p.m., all at the church. Burial in St. John Catholic Cemetery, Prague.
