Marian E. “Midge” Wolf, 85 years, of Fremont died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019, at Nye Legacy in Fremont. Marian was born Sept. 23, 1933, at Fremont to Hans C. and Selma L. (Janowski) Harms.
She was raised in Fremont, attended Fremont Schools and was a graduate of Fremont High School. She worked at Hammond & Stephens Company in Fremont for a short time and met her husband there. Marian married Fredrick “Lyle” Wolf on Dec. 4, 1955. He preceded her in death on Jan. 8, 2009. They moved to Winslow and lived there for 19 years, moving to Fremont in 1975.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Hooper. She was a very good seamstress and made many of the children’s clothes. She loved to cook and bake and made very good chocolate chip cookies.
She is survived by son, Fred Wolf of Wahoo; daughter, Diane (Bob) Essink of Lincoln; brother, Paul (Marilyn) Harms of Fremont; three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Joan Ziegler; and brother, Warren Harms.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at Immanuel Lutheran Church at rural Hooper. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation will continue Friday one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery at rural Hooper.
