Melba J. Blake, age 91, of Valley, Nebraska, formerly of Fremont, Nebraska, entered into her heavenly rest on Saturday, March 2, 2019, at the Life Care Center of Elkhorn. She entered this life on July 30, 1927, in Fremont to Rono and Inez (Seely) Bader. She has lived in Fremont until the last few years.
Melba married Raymond L. Blake on Jan. 4, 1946, in Fremont. Ray passed away Sept. 30, 2012. She worked at Campbell Soup Company in Fremont for several years and then the former Dodge County Annex, now Dunklau Gardens, for 11 years.
She was a member of Full Life Assembly of God in Fremont.
Survived by sons, James Blake of Springfield, Missouri, and Philip (Margaret) Blake of California; brothers, Curtis (Ilona) Blake of Foxfire, North Carolina, and Gail (Mary Ann) Bader of Omaha; sisters, Phyllis Forbes and Maxine Nix; grandson, Nicholas (Tara) Blake; and three great-grandsons.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, John Blake; two brothers; and six sisters.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 8, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Rev. Mike Washburn will officiate. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. and continue one hour prior to the service on Friday. Private family burial will be at Ridge Cemetery in Fremont.
