Ronald L. Wiley, 79, passed away at his home in Lincoln on Oct. 8, 2018. Ron was born in Chadron, Nebraska, on Nov. 22, 1938, to Clyde and Irene Wiley. He graduated from Chadron High School, Chadron State College, and Seabury Western Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois. He served the Episcopal diocese of Nebraska as a priest in the cities of Cody, Valentine, Lincoln, Omaha and Fremont. He also served Bishop Warner as Canon to the Ordinary from 1977-1986. Ron and his wife Linda lived in Fremont for 32 years, where they were active in the community. After his retirement from St. James Episcopal Church in Fremont, he continued to serve the church until late 2017.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Greg (Kelly) Wiley of Lincoln; grandchildren, Harrison and Nora Wiley; stepson, David Merritt of Lincoln; and brother, James (Carol Ann) Wiley of Dodgeville, Wisconsin.
Memorial service to be held Monday, Oct. 15, at 11 a.m. at St. James Episcopal Church, 301 E. Fifth St., Fremont. Memorials to St. James Episcopal Church or Care Corps Homeless Shelter in Fremont.
