Ruth A. Osborn, 98 years, of Fremont died Dec. 20, 2017, at Dunklau Gardens in Fremont. Ruth was born Sept. 8, 1919, in West Point to Louis and Lily (Wulf) Henke.
She grew up in West Point and was a 1937 graduate of West Point High School. Ruth married Wallace J. Osborn on July 19, 1945, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He died on Feb. 25, 2007. They lived in Corpus Christi and Omaha prior to moving to Fremont in 1947.
She worked as a legal secretary for Moody & Burke in West Point and for Beber, Klutznick, Beber and Kaplan in Omaha and in Fremont for Spear and Lamme Attorneys.
She was a member of First Congregational Church UCC of Fremont, where she did volunteer secretarial work.
Ruth is survived by son, Jim (Teri) Osborn of Des Moines, Iowa; daughters, Susan Schmidt of St. Paul, Minnesota, Patricia Osborn of Fremont, Mary (Rev. Ed) Bonneau of Tucson, Arizona, and Beverly (Brian) Lauby of Lexington; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by parents; husband, Wallace; sisters, Dorothy and Myrtle Poppe; brothers, Leslie, Dennis and Harold Henke; and grandson, Sam Bonneau.
The memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, at First Congregational Church, UCC in Fremont.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the church or Fremont Health Hospice Program.
