Although religion played an important role throughout Vi’s life, she developed a deep relationship with Jesus in her 50s that defined her remaining years. She became an avid student of the Bible and began each day with a time of prayer and devotions. She was an active member and volunteer at the Fremont Alliance Church for 33 years. She also volunteered at the Fremont Area Medical Center (12 years) and Fremont YMCA (10 years). To fulfill her dream of being a teacher, Vi donated her body to the Nebraska Anatomical Board. Even after death, her body will aid young medical students. Special thanks to the wonderful, caring staff at Sunrise Brighton Gardens and Endless Journey Hospice for making Vi’s journey an easier one for her and her family.
At Vi’s request, memorials may be payable to Camp Rivercrest via either Christ Community Church, 404 S 108th Ave, Omaha, NE 68154 or Fremont Alliance Church.
Memorial services will be held at the Fremont Alliance Church at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 31, 1615 N. Lincoln Ave, Fremont, NE 68025.
