Sept. 7, 1932 – June 12, 2018
Wilbur J. Schuetz, 85 years, of North Bend passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at Dunklau Gardens in Fremont. Wilbur was born Sept. 7, 1932, at the rural home of his parents, John and Eliza (Kammerer) Schuetz near Barada.
He attended various rural schools, graduating from eighth grade near Barada. He earned his high school diploma on March 10, 1972. He started farming at the age of 13 to support his mother and himself. He married Lenora Brundage on March 2, 1952, at the Baptist Church in Platte Center.
Wilbur worked various places and was self-employed as an over-the-road truck driver for a number of years. After retiring he worked part time for Foodliner at Blair as a truck driver. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in North Bend.
He is survived by his wife, Lenora of North Bend; son, Jon (Donna) Schuetz of Omaha; daughters, Debra Ann (John) Christiansen of North Platte, Sherri A. Schuetz and Terri B. (Curtis) Abrams, all of New Fairview, Texas; brother, Robert Schuetz of Preston, Missouri; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Marvin Sousek; and great-grandson, Benjamin Anthony.
The funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 16, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in North Bend. The Rev. Christopher Howell will officiate. Visitation will be Friday, June 15, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Moser Funeral Home in North Bend. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be 3 p.m. at Williamsville Cemetery next to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church at 65502 715 Road at Falls City.
