For years now, the Fremont Eagles Auxiliary 200 has placed a Fraternal Order of Eagles flag and marker on their deceased members’ graves at Memorial, Ridge and Calvary cemeteries in Fremont. This is a reminder to all of their loved ones that they did belong to the Fremont Eagles 200 at the time of her death.
This tradition has been going on for several years now. It is with regret that we tell those left behind, this will be the last year that we will place the flag and marker on the deceased members’ graves. After Memorial Day, it will be up to you or another family member (or friend) to remove the flag and marker and be responsible for its placement.
The Aerie has been doing this for years already and it is beautiful to see the flag fly other times of the year than just Memorial Day. Flags have been seen on Aerie members’ graves for birthdays, Father’s Day, other national holidays, etc. This is a beautiful tribute to Fremont Eagle Aerie 200 members.
In the future, when a Fremont Eagles Auxiliary 200 member dies, a flag and marker will be taken to the funeral home for the family.
If your loved one is not buried in one of the Fremont cemeteries and would like a marker and flag, please contact the secretary Shirley Brester to get one.
May the memory of your loved one continue to live on in your hearts. The Fremont Eagles Auxiliary 200 remembers our deceased members fondly and continues to miss them in our midst.
Fremont Eagles Auxiliary 200 Secretary
