BELLEVUE -- Midland University only shot 32 percent from the field, but notched a 71-39 win over Nebraska Christian College on Saturday in the BU-NCC Classic.

The improves the Lady Warriors to 3-0 while the Sentinels fall to 0-5.

Makenna Sullivan led Midland with 12 points and three steals. Maddie Egr and Madison Severson had 11 points each.

“It wasn’t always pretty, especially offensively, but we were solid in other areas that can get you wins,” MU coach Shawn Gilbert said. “Defensively we were good, particularly in the second half. We forced turnovers, rebounded well, and both led to easy scores. I am really pleased with the level we competed at this week. We had three tough opponents in four days and got after it each game.”

Midland will host top-ranked Concordia at 6 Tuesday night at the Wikert Event Center.
