OMAHA — The First State Bank Reserves downed the Omaha Pacesetters 8-7 Sunday in the finals of the Millard Sox Baseball Tournament.
Dawson Glause pitched the final two innings of scoreless relief to earn the win. Hunter Mueller started and surrendered five runs in three innings. Brady Benson relieved Mueller and gave up two runs in two innings.
Glause, Connor Richmond, Jack Cooper and Benson led the offense for the Reserves, who improved to 21-4.
On Saturday, the Reserves picked up a pair of wins. They beat the Millard Sox 12-1 and the Elkhorn White 10-0.
Against the Sox, Cooper got the win while Richmond, Benson and Camden McKenzie led the offense.
Carter Sintek got the win in the shutout. Cooper and Mueller were the hitting leaders.
The Reserves opened the tournament with a 19-0 victory over Lincoln East.
Glause got the win with relief help from Brenton Pitt and Richmond. Sam Gifford sparked the offense. Other hitting leaders included Richmond, Shea Gossett and McKenzie.
In the three games prior to the final, the Reserves outscored their opponents 41-1.
