Fremont Tigers

Members of the Fremont Tigers and their fans celebrate a goal in the second period against Millard West. The Tigers lost the game 7-3.

Millard West broke to a 2-0 lead in the first period and went on to defeat the Fremont Tigers 7-3 in club hockey.

Jacob Claus scored off an assist from Preston Hulit with 8:14 left in the first period to put West ahead. Kade Grennan’s goal off a Graham Peterson assist made it 2-0.

The two teams combined for six goals in the second period.

Claus scored a goal that was assisted by Hunter Johnson and Hulit with 11:20 remaining in the period.

The Tigers cut the deficit to 3-2 on a pair of goals by Jax Sorensen. The first one (with 9:14 left) was assisted by Nate Dillon and Jackson Ritchhart. The second was assisted by Sorensen’s brother, Spencer at the 5:58-mark.

West made it 4-2 when Grennan scored off a Hulit assist with 3:52 left. Spencer Sorensen answered for the Tigers with 1:05 remaining. Brennan Callahan got the assist.

Adam Walker made it 5-3 when he scored off Peterson’s assist with 35 seconds left.

Millard West tacked on a pair of goals in the third period — one by Grennan and the other by Clayton Kriha.

The Tigers will play Creighton Prep at 7:15 Thursday night at Baxter Arena.
