Sophomore Marriah Buss had 23 kills to help No. 5 Lincoln Lutheran down No. 2 North Bend 25-14, 25-21, 25-18 in the Class C-1 third-place match Saturday at Lincoln Southeast High School.
Erin Williams had 22 digs and three ace serves, and Hope Leimbach had 37 set assists and 13 digs.
Williams broke the school’s season dig record, finishing with 489, and Leimbach set the school’s season assist mark, finishing with 1,024.
Buss’ 684 kills this season also are a program record.
Brooke Fredrickson had 13 kills and 11 digs to lead North Bend Central (31-3).
Lutheran finishes the season 31-6. The 31 wins tie a school mark.
North Bend led 6-5 in the second set on a kill by Megan Ortmeier. Lutheran, however, took control to go up 24-18.
Fredrickson had a kill and Emanuel added a block to trim the deficit to three, but the Tigers couldn’t get any closer.
Another Fredrickson kill and a Hailey Bang ace serve helped the Tigers go up 2-0 in the third set, but Lutheran used a 10-4 run to gain control.
Kristin Lux had seven kills and eight digs. Emanuel finished with five kills and two blocks. Megan Ortmeier had three kills while Kaitlynn Bjorklund finished with 25 set assists and 12 digs.
