Nebraska held its second "Home Grown" walk-on event Wednesday night at Memorial Stadium.
Just like last December, it didn't take long for the program to show results.
Lincoln Southwest athlete Caden McCormack and York offensive lineman Noah Stafursky each announced Thursday morning that they are walking on with Nebraska.

Stafursky, listed at 6-foot-4 and 310 pounds, said he's known for about one week that he was going to choose a walk-on offer from NU over playing Division II ball on scholarship but wanted to wait for the walk-on event.
"It was definitely pretty cool," he told the Journal Star. "They had Wyatt Mazour, Brandon Reilly, Matt Jarzynka and Bryan Reimers, they brought all of them in and had them talk about their recruiting experiences and we asked some questions."
Later, while players were trying on jerseys and taking pictures in the locker room, Stafursky told director of high school relations Kenny Wilhite he was ready to commit and later told Frost. Stafursky estimated about 12-15 of the 25 or so on hand had one-on-one meetings with Frost.
McCormack racked up 149 tackles (15 for loss) in 10 games for the Silver Hawks and also rushed for 455 yards (6.3 per carry) and four touchdowns.
He was leaving the event with his parents after meeting with Frost and decided he had to go back up and tell the head coach he'd made his decision.
"I got butterflies in my stomach, my heart was pounding and it just felt right," he said. "We were in the lobby walking out and I was like, 'There's no other place I can go.' So we went back upstairs, all the way back to Coach Frost's office and I told him there was no other place I'd rather be."
McCormack had FCS scholarship offers but said he just couldn't turn down the chance to play for NU.
"I grew up here, I've always liked Husker football, my family went here, my grandpa," he said. "I know I can earn a scholarship here."
McCormack turned heads and made himself known to the Nebraska coaching staff this summer at a Friday Night Lights camp, running hand-timed 40-yard dash times in sub-4.6 seconds while checking in at a sturdy 6-1 and 214 pounds.
Before that, he won MVP honors at a Rivals camp in Chicago.
McCormack told the Journal Star the staff thinks he could wind up playing any of its linebacker spots or perhaps safety.
McCormack and Stafursky make 10 known walk-ons in the Huskers' 2019 class, which eventually is expected to be somewhere between 20-25 strong.
McCormack is the fifth from Lincoln, joining teammate and kicker Dylan Jorgensen, Southeast punter Grant Detlefsen, North Star athlete Luke Reimer and Lincoln High defensive back Cam Kleinschmidt.
Home Grown event a success: The Huskers hosted around 25 high school players for the walk-on event Wednesday evening.
