Trinity Panthers

The Trinity Lutheran boys' varsity basketball team went 1-2 at the Norfolk Tournament recently.

The Panthers won the Sportsmanship Award and Trevor Denker earned all-tournament honors.

Trinity lost 33-23 to Madison.

Jack Bang had seven points and six rebounds for the Panthers. Denker had six points, five rebounds and an assist. Ben Menking finished with five points, nine rebounds and two blocked shots. Dalton Newcomer chipped in two points while Cade Podany had one.

The Panthers also suffered a 27-22 loss to Grand Island, despite 15 points and 21 rebounds from Menking. Bang had six points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals. Newcomer had one point while Denker pulled down seven rebounds.

Trinity beat Pierce 49-41 behind 13 points from Newcomer. Denker had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Bang contributed 10 points and seven rebounds.

Landon Wilson (seven), Jacob Beans (five), Cade Podany (two) and Menking (one) also added points. Podany had seven rebounds while Beans grabbed six.
