Tekamah-Herman drew the number-2 seed in the Class C1 Subdistrict 5 volleyball tournament, according to official brackets released Thursday by the Nebraska School Activities Association.
The Nebraska State Patrol on Wednesday released information regarding the investigation into a Sept. 27 shooting in Oakland that left one person dead.
The recommendation to boil drinking water in the City of Tekamah has been lifted.
Counselors were available for Oakland-Craig students and staff following the violent death of a staff member Tuesday night. The shooting followed a lockout at the school on Monday, prompted by law enforcement’s search for an individual believed to be armed and dangerous.
Funeral services for Joan Faye (Lindstrom) Wolf, 65, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, were held Saturday, June 24, 2023, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oakland. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery. An Oakland native, she passed away on Monday, June 19, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.
Local author Mary Connealy will be at the Lied Tekamah Public Library on Thursday, June 29, discussing her latest book as well as the writing process.
Memorial services for Perky Holm are set for 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 3, 2023, at First Presbyterian Church in Tekamah, Nebraska. Burial will be in Tekamah Cemetery. The longtime Tekamah resident passed away in Blair on May 23, 2023. She was 97.
A memorial services for Deia McCluskey will be at a later date. The 62-year-old Decatur woman passed away in her home June 13, 2023, with her beloved dog Abby by her side, after a short battle with cancer.
