For a fifth consecutive week, the Wayne State volleyball team is ranked second in the AVCA/TARAFLEX Division II Volleyball Coaches Poll released Monday afternoon. The Wildcats collected one first-place vote and 1,116 points in voting conducted by various Division II coaches across the country after posting three NSIC road wins last week that included a sweep at then-No. 11 Southwest Minnesota State last Tuesday night.
Wayne State sits 17-1 overall and tied for first in the NSIC with No. 14 Minnesota Duluth at 9-0 in league play. The Wildcats play their next five games at home in Rice Arena starting this weekend with a 6 p.m. Friday match against the University of Mary and an 11 a.m. Saturday contest against Minot State.
